Solana DePIN ecosystem revenue hits a new high for the year, with multiple projects performing well.
Solana DePIN ecosystem welcomes a new annual revenue high, with impressive performances from various projects
Recently, the decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) track within the Solana ecosystem has achieved its best performance of the year. In April, the track's cumulative monthly revenue reached $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%, setting a new high for the year. This growth is mainly attributed to the stable development of several key projects.
Despite record high revenues, the number of active contributors to the DePIN protocol has slightly decreased. Currently, major projects maintain approximately 87,000 active contributors in total. It's worth noting that in April, the number of contributors to smaller DePIN protocols increased significantly, with some projects experiencing growth rates exceeding 100%, while the number of contributors to larger protocols remained stable or slightly decreased.
The following is an overview of the recent performance of major DePIN projects:
Dabba Network
As a DePIN project exclusive to the Indian market, Dabba Network is committed to deploying Wi-Fi hotspots across India by collaborating with local cable operators. From March to April, its cumulative data consumption surged to 8000 TB, doubling in size; during the same period, device sales increased by 29%, further expanding the network scale.
Helium Mobile
As a virtual mobile network operator, Helium Mobile combines community-deployed Wi-Fi hotspots with cellular base stations from partner operators to provide users with low-cost mobile data and voice services. After opening free mobile plans to all users, new subscription users surged by 125%, reaching a historical high of 36,000. April revenue also set a new record of $250,000, with data offloading accounting for as much as 79%. The average daily offloading subscription volume increased by 65%, and the volume of offloaded data grew by 32%, both setting new historical records.
XNET
XNET is a decentralized mobile network based on Solana. In April, its data offloading continued to grow, with an average daily offload volume increasing by 16%, marking that XNET has maintained a steady upward trend in data offloading for 8 consecutive months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors to XNET Mobile in April still rose by 6%, reaching 732, a new historical high.
Roam
In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes (the second highest in history) and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of nodes to nearly 4 million and the number of users to nearly 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the cumulative check-in count has surpassed 300 million, showing that user stickiness remains strong.
Shaga
The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently covering 74 GPU models, providing 33.12 TB of storage and 15.27 Gbps throughput. Within two months, Shaga achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts, totaling 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to participate in the host's games in real time.
Hivello
As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello is used to monetize idle resources. The online duration in April doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
Nosana
Nosana is a decentralized GPU computing network based on Solana, focusing on AI inference workloads. In April, its job completion volume and contributor rewards saw a slight increase, with GPU nodes remaining stable. The newly launched Gaianet AI collaboration project allows AI agents to operate on the Nosana infrastructure, which is expected to drive job growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar supports high-performance computing needs by connecting the idle computing power of devices such as smartphones to the network. In April, Sallar's dollar rewards increased by 27% month-on-month, reaching $11,800, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass utilizes the idle internet bandwidth of users' devices to provide underlying data sources for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services. In April, Grass's data collection volume reached a historic high of 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
Wingbits is a DePIN project based on Solana that collects real-time aircraft data through ADS-B hardware deployed by users worldwide. Since November 2024, the number of flights tracked by the Wingbits network has increased to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, representing increases of 7% and 29%, respectively; the number of contributing sites has also increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.
Hivemapper
Hivemapper is a decentralized mapping network where users collect street-level imagery through dashcams to earn token rewards. In April, the monthly mapping mileage remained stable, and the AI-driven platform Beekeeper aimed at fleet management was officially launched. Since February, the number of active map contributors has remained stable at around 5,000.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network collects street view and geographic data through smartphones and dedicated devices, supporting map making, autonomous driving, and physical AI. In April, user-driven mileage remained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
Sourceful Energy is centered around a decentralized virtual power plant, connecting distributed energy resources to the Solana blockchain network. In April, power output increased by 30%, and the newly launched Zap smart energy efficiency analysis device received 500 pre-orders, with growth expected to continue.
AmbiosNetwork
Ambios Network has built the largest scale environmental monitoring DePIN in the world. In April, the cumulative user ecological data check-ins exceeded 2 million times, with a growth of 12% in ecological data check-ins; the total number of platform users increased to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN ecosystem showed strong growth momentum in April, with multiple projects achieving significant progress in user growth, data processing, and revenue. This trend reflects the potential and value of decentralized physical infrastructure networks in practical applications, providing strong support for the continued development of the Solana ecosystem.
