On July 8, U.S. President Trump stated that the tariff letters sent today are, in some ways, a final offer. The August 1 trade negotiation deadline has been made clear, but he remains open to other ideas. Previously, Trump had consecutively announced his tariff letters to multiple countries on social media, and as of the time of writing, he has issued the latest tariff rate threats to 14 countries. Among them, Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Tunisia face a tariff rate of 25%; South Africa and Bosnia have a rate of 30%; Indonesia has a rate of 32%; Bangladesh and Serbia have a rate of 35%; Thailand and Cambodia have a rate of 36%; Laos and Myanmar have a rate of 40%. The aforementioned tariffs will take effect on August 1. ( Jin10 )
