The longs control the battlefield: HYPE has the potential to reach 100 USD in the medium term
In the past week, Hyperliquid (HYPE) recorded an impressive increase of 27% after the price exceeded the upper boundary of the Bollinger Bands (BB) on the technical chart – a signal indicating that the upward momentum is strong but may also carry the risk of correction. However, despite this technical warning, both analysts and investors continue to express strong confidence in the long term potential of the asset.
HYPE is predicted to reach $100
On August 11, the crypto community on the social media platform X made bold predictions about the next direction of HYPE. Some opinions suggest that the correction phase of this token has ended, and the price may soon reach 50 USD, followed by 60 USD, and could even reach 100 USD in the long term.
Notably, some experts have emphasized the possibility that HYPE will establish a new all-time high (ATH) if the current trend continues to be maintained.
At the time of writing, HYPE is being traded at 42.6 USD, down more than 6% in the last 24 hours.
Short-term adjustments before the new increase?
Since the beginning of May 2025, HYPE has established and maintained a stable upward trend, reflecting positive sentiment and strong demand from the market. The recent price surge has pushed HYPE beyond the upper boundary of the BB band, an area that often suggests that the asset is overbought and may face a short-term correction.
Based on previous price cycles, each time HYPE hits the upper boundary of the BB band, selling pressure usually increases sharply, causing the price to drop by 10–13% before regaining momentum. Currently, the price is showing signs of adjustment; however, the decrease has not yet reached the average technical correction threshold, indicating that selling pressure remains relatively limited or that buyers are still maintaining the initiative.
However, if the bulls regain control and the price can close above the resistance level of 47 USD, this could trigger a significant technical breakout, opening up the possibility for HYPE to set new highs in the short term.
In addition, the RSI index is currently at 52, still quite far from the overbought level (70). This indicates that the upward momentum of HYPE still has room to continue, while also carrying the potential to accelerate if buying pressure continues to strengthen in the upcoming sessions.
Another notable factor comes from the Total Value Locked (TVL) of Hyperliquid. According to data from Defillama, the TVL of HYPE has reached an all-time high, reflecting real cash flow and strong commitment from the community and institutional investors.
This is not only a positive signal of long term confidence, but also an important technical driver to maintain the upward trend in the short term.
This significant discrepancy indicates that the Long side is in control, while also putting pressure on the Short side if the price continues to rise.
However, investors need to pay attention to short-term correction signs and closely monitor important technical levels to have an appropriate strategy.
