Cyprus police are investigating a theft of cryptocurrency worth 381,653 euros after a 48-year-old man reported that his wallet was hacked on June 11. The hacker accessed the victim's email, took the wallet password, and transferred all assets to another wallet. Police warn that the investigation and recovery of assets will be very difficult, and urge users to enhance security by recording seed phrases offline, using secure wallets, and enabling two-factor authentication. The incident reflects a growing trend of global cryptocurrency scams, with losses in the first half of 2025 reaching 2.1 billion USD. The CEO of Ripple also warned that scammers are impersonating the company's official YouTube account to deceive users. Experts advise avoiding clicking on suspicious links and not searching for cryptocurrency platforms through Google.
