SharpLink Gaming, the publicly traded company that has adopted an Ethereum treasury strategy and is the largest ETH holder in the world, directly bought 10,000 ETH from the Ethereum Foundation.
According to the official statement made by SharpLink Gaming, the company announced that it has signed a definitive agreement with the Ethereum Foundation ( "EF" ) for SharpLink to purchase 10,000 ETH for $25,723,680 on the Ethereum mainnet.
The purchase price per ETH was $2,572.37, and the transaction took place on July 10, 2025.
SharpLink Chairman of the Board, Ethereum Co-Founder Joseph Lubin stated the following regarding the purchase transaction of 10,000 ETH:
"We are proud to support the long-term strength of the network and its mission of decentralization at a time when Ethereum has entered a new era in terms of institutional adoption."
This ETH transaction is not an exchange; it is our commitment to our long-term vision. SharpLink is buying, staking, and re-staking ETH, removing supply from circulation and strengthening the health of the Ethereum ecosystem.
Furthermore, we see this as the beginning of something bigger.
