The battle for dominance in artificial intelligence is no longer just a battle over code but has shifted to attracting talent. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has just announced a new AI research team called Meta Superintelligence Labs, with many members recruited from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind. This team is led by Alexandr Wang, former CEO of Scale AI, and Nat Friedman, former CEO of GitHub.

Meta's hiring of researchers from competitors has sparked outrage at OpenAI. Research director Mark Chen described this as "breaking and entering" and "stealing property." He asserted that OpenAI is not sitting idly by in this situation. To cope, the company has given employees a week off to recover from the frenzy of rumors about the talent war.
