The U.S. Congressional Research Service has proposed allowing Crypto Asset companies direct access to the main account of the Federal Reserve and other policy issues.
The Golden Finance reported that the Congressional Research Service (CRS) released a report on Federal Reserve policy issues, involving the themes of Cryptocurrency and Digital Money, and outlined some policy issues that Congress may want to consider, including whether Cryptocurrency companies and other non-traditional companies holding federal or state banking licenses should be granted direct access to the Federal Reserve discount window and master accounts. It is reported that the Federal Reserve had previously refused to provide a master account in a legal dispute with Custodia Bank. The Congressional Research Service is a government organization responsible for outlining issues that the US Congress may wish to consider. In addition, the related reports also involve some other encryption issues, including banks participating in Crypto Assets business, stablecoins, and central bank Digital Money (CBDC).
