The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced on 2/4 that the new Acting Chair, Mark Uyeda, revealed that Landon Zinda, former Policy Counsel at the cryptocurrency advocacy group Coin Center, has officially joined the SEC's Cryptocurrency Task Force as a senior advisor.

SEC forms Cryptocurrency Project Team, emphasizing clear regulation

Uyeda announced that Zinda, the former Policy Director of the cryptocurrency advocacy group Coin Center, will become a legal advisor to the SEC and a senior advisor to the Cryptocurrency Project Team. The Cryptocurrency Project Team is led by Republican member Hester Peirce, who is known as the 'encryption mom'. Neeraj Agrawal, the Communications Director of the encryption policy advocacy group Coin Center, has also confirmed that Zinda has resigned and no longer serves as the organization's Policy Director.

The SEC announced the establishment of a Cryptocurrency Task Force on 1/21, aiming to provide a clear regulatory framework, develop reasonable registration standards, create a transparent information disclosure mechanism, and more accurately utilize law enforcement resources. The task force will collaborate with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and other federal agencies.

The new government regulatory policy is shifting significantly, and the SEC is expected to relax its regulations.
