Traditional savings are no match for the rising tuition fees, and investing in Bitcoin for children has become a new trend.
Due to the pressure of rising tuition fees, many American parents are choosing to invest in Bitcoin for their children instead of traditional tax-advantaged 529 savings plans. By extending the investment horizon, children can better tolerate the price fluctuation of Bitcoin and earn higher returns.
The tuition fees of American universities have skyrocketed, and parents are giving up on the 529 plan.
According to Bloomberg, many American parents are choosing to abandon the 529 plan and instead invest in BTC to cover the increasingly high college tuition fees.
The 529 plan in the United States is an education savings plan designed to help parents save for their children's education expenses. These plans are typically managed by state governments, offering tax advantages, and the funds invested can be used tax-free for the child's college expenses. Some states even provide incentives or subsidies to encourage parental participation.
But now many American parents choose to give up the 529 plan and instead invest in BTC for their children. Some think that the stock gains are not high enough, while others consider this a reasonable diversification. These parents believe that their children have enough time to withstand the dramatic Fluctuation of BTC. The annual tuition fee for a top private university in the United States is close to $100,000, and the traditional stock return rate simply cannot meet the demand.
ETF issuer Bitwise founder Matt Hougan also agrees, stating that US college tuition has been rising at a rate of 5% per year over the past 25 years.
Extending the investment period, can children withstand the BTC Fluctuation better?
