Ethereum Futures Trading Volume Nearly Rp2,000 Trillion in July
The monthly trading volume of futures contracts (futures) Ethereum on CME reached a record high, surpassing US$118 billion or approximately Rp1.921 trillion last July. This figure surged by 82% compared to the previous month.
Investor interest is also reflected in the surge of open interest, which skyrocketed by 75%, from US$2.97 billion in June to a new record of US$5.21 billion in July. This phenomenon is not only occurring at CME, as the total trading volume of ETH futures across all exchanges also reached a record US$2.12 trillion in July.
The achievement rose by 38% compared to the previous month, even 13% higher than the old record in May 2021. With trading volume and open interest at their peak, the price of ETH briefly reached US$4,300 in a few days.
