Solana DePIN track revenue hits a new high, impressive performance in April
The Solana ecosystem's DePIN sector achieved its best monthly performance of the year in April, with total revenue reaching $458,000, a year-on-year growth of 33%. This impressive result is mainly attributed to the solid growth of several key projects.
Although overall revenue reached a new high, the number of active contributors slightly decreased, with the main projects maintaining around 87,000 active contributors. Notably, the number of contributors for small DePIN projects saw significant growth, with one project experiencing a growth rate of over 100%, while the number of contributors for large projects remained stable or slightly declined.
Here is a review of the performance of some major DePIN projects in April:
Mobile Network and Wi-Fi Project
A DePIN project exclusive to a certain Indian market achieved significant growth from March to April, with total data consumption doubling to 8000 TB and device sales increasing by 29%.
A certain mobile virtual network operator saw a 125% increase in new subscription users after launching a free mobile plan, reaching 36,000 users. Monthly revenue grew by 34%, setting a new high of $250,000, with data offloading accounting for 79%. The average daily offloading subscription volume of the project rose by 65%, and the volume of offloaded data increased by 32%, both breaking historical records.
Another decentralized mobile network project has maintained a data offloading growth trend for 8 consecutive months, with an average daily offload volume increasing by 16% in April. Despite a 6% decline in rewards, its active contributors still rose by 6%, reaching 732 individuals, a new historical high.
A certain WiFi network project added 535,000 nodes and 87,000 new users in April, bringing the total number of nodes close to 4 million and the number of users nearly 3 million. Although the monthly user sign-in volume decreased by 19%, the cumulative sign-in count has exceeded 300 million.
Computing Resources and AI-related Projects
A project that utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games currently covers 74 GPU models, providing 33.12 TB of storage and 15.27 Gbps of throughput. It achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts within two months, with a total duration of 50,000 hours.
A certain DePIN aggregation platform's online duration in April doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
A decentralized GPU computing network project saw a slight increase in completed tasks and contributor rewards in April, with GPU nodes remaining stable. The newly launched AI collaboration project is expected to drive task growth.
Another project for shared device computing power to complete AI tasks has increased its April dollar rewards to $11,800, a month-on-month increase of 27%, while the number of active wallets remains stable.
A certain project provides data sources for AI training by leveraging the idle bandwidth of user devices. In April, the data collection volume reached a new high of 34.5 million GB.
Geographic Information and Environmental Monitoring Project
A decentralized map network maintained stable mapping mileage in April, and an AI-driven platform for fleet management was officially launched in that month. Since February, the number of active map contributors for the project has remained stable at around 5,000.
Another project that collects street view data through smartphones remained stable in April, with user-driven mileage maintaining at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
A certain decentralized virtual power plant project saw a 30% increase in electricity output in April, and the newly launched smart energy efficiency analysis equipment received 500 reservations.
A large-scale environmental monitoring DePIN project has accumulated over 2 million user ecological data sign-ins in April, an increase of 12%; the total number of platform users has risen to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN track showed strong growth momentum in April, with impressive performances from projects in various subfields. As more innovative applications and users join, this track is expected to continue its growth trend in the future.
