The Ethereum Mainnet is about to launch L1 zkEVM, significantly enhancing scalability.
On July 11, Ethereum Foundation developer Sophia Gold stated that the L1 zkEVM is about to log in to the Ethereum Mainnet, which will significantly increase the Gas limit and achieve native zk-rollup support without compromising security, liveness, and censorship resistance. As a first step, the Ethereum Foundation zkEVM team has proposed a realtime proving standard, aiming to implement local proving computations in office buildings and even some residential areas. Sophia anticipates that with the accelerated progress of multiple zkVMs, this goal is likely to be achieved before the Devconnect Argentina conference in November this year, and she stated that the future of the Ethereum execution layer has arrived.
