The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (Apple WWDC) grandly commenced this morning, June 10, led by CEO Tim Cook (Tim Cook) and software head Craig Federighi (Craig Federighi), unveiling the latest system updates and technological innovations from Apple.

This presentation lasted for over an hour and featured many highlights. For example, the Apple system iOS 26 and a series of naming and system changes, the dynamic sensing interface of "Liquid Glass," and the most notable "Apple Intelligence" device-side AI, which not only deeply integrates with various devices but also emphasizes device-side computing and privacy protection.

The device-side AI "Apple Intelligence" officially debuts.

Federighi first introduced their self-developed "Apple Intelligence" device-side AI, whose biggest selling points are "local computation" and "privacy protection," allowing operations without the need to upload data to the cloud.

All developers can leverage the new Foundation Models framework and use large language models on devices to create apps, such as Kahoot, which can automatically generate quiz questions based on users' notes. It emphasizes that users can enjoy the features without paying extra for cloud API fees.

iOS 26 focuses on integrating AI with daily applications, such as the phone app which will automatically generate summaries of voice messages and identify unknown callers, the messaging app adding Apple Cash for instant transfers, and integrating AI instant translation into messages, FaceTime, and voice calls, making communication smoother for users.

Other self-built apps are also integrating AI, such as wallet apps that support digital IDs, which can simultaneously integrate flight, ticket, and luggage tracking. CarPlay adds widgets, quick message replies, and vehicle control, helping users manage daily tasks through AI.
