According to a report by Cointelegraph on June 1, the Czech Minister of Justice Pavel Blazek has announced his resignation on May 30 due to controversy over his department selling Bitcoin donated by a convicted criminal.

The Ministry of Justice previously announced on social platform X that it raised approximately 1 billion Czech crowns (about 45 million USD) by auctioning nearly 500 Bitcoins. These Bitcoins came from Tomas Jirikovsky, the operator of the convicted dark web platform Sheep Marketplace.

In March this year, Jirikovsky's lawyer offered to donate one third of a Bitcoin to Blazek, but Blazek accepted the donation without thoroughly investigating the source of the funds. The police are currently investigating the source of this Bitcoin.
