JPMorgan: 'Devaluation trading' will continue to exist as the structural importance of BTC and gold increases

Golden Finance reported that analysts at JPMorgan, led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, said in a report on Friday that the gold price appreciation over the past year has far exceeded the implied trend of the US dollar and actual bond yield changes, and is likely to reflect the re-emergence of this depreciation trade. They added that the record capital inflows into the cryptocurrency market in 2024 indicate that BTC is also becoming a 'more important component' in investor portfolios. Devaluation trading refers to a strategy where investors turn to assets such as gold and Bitcoin to hedge against the devaluation of fiat currency. This devaluation is often driven by factors such as inflation, increasing government debt, and geopolitical instability.
