Tokyo claims that about 90 Japanese citizens have been evacuated from Israel and Iran.

According to Gate News bot and CNN reports, Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya stated that approximately 90 Japanese citizens and their families have been safely evacuated from Israel and Iran to neighboring countries in response to escalating tensions in the Middle East. Takeshi told reporters on Friday that 66 people leaving Iran have safely arrived in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, while 21 people from Israel have safely reached Amman, the capital of Jordan.

He said that the Japanese government plans to carry out a second round of evacuation operations from Iran by bus as early as Saturday.

Takeshi stated: "We will continue to closely monitor the situation and take all possible measures to protect Japanese citizens."

He reiterated that Japan strongly condemns the retaliatory actions of Israel and Iran.

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba emphasized the importance of calming the situation through diplomatic efforts and stated earlier this week after the G7 summit, "Iran must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons."
