The hacking group "Dark Storm" claimed responsibility for the X platform DDoS attack
The Russian-backed hacking group "Dark Storm" has claimed responsibility for the recent distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that led to the massive outage of Platform X. Dark Storm claimed to have carried out the attack in its Telegram channel, according to information posted by cybersecurity organization SpyoSecure on Platform X on March 10. The channel was subsequently removed for violating the platform's terms of service. Social media personality Ed Krassenstein also said he reached out to Dark Storm's leaders, who confirmed the claim and said the attack was intended to demonstrate its strength and was not politically motivated. Elon Musk, the owner of Platform X, confirmed that on March 10, the platform suffered a cyberattack that made it inaccessible to some users, but user functionality was quickly restored. In an interview with Fox Business Channel, he said that the attack originated from IP addresses in Ukrainian regions. In addition, Tesla's recent drop in stock price may be related to the protests sparked by Musk's government's Department of Efficiency (DOGE) spending cuts. (Cointelegraph)
