Solana DePIN ecosystem achieved record income in April with multiple projects realizing high-speed rise.
Solana DePIN ecological monthly revenue hits a new high, major projects perform brilliantly
The DePIN sector of the Solana ecosystem achieved its best performance of the year in April, with monthly total revenue reaching $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%. This growth is primarily attributed to the stable development of several key projects, including representative protocols in decentralized networks, rendering services, and map data collection.
Despite record-high revenues, the number of active contributors to the DePIN protocol has slightly decreased. The total number of contributors to major projects remains around 87,000. Notably, the number of contributors to smaller DePIN projects saw significant growth in April, with certain protocols experiencing growth rates exceeding 100%. In contrast, the number of contributors to larger projects has remained stable or slightly declined.
The following are the specific performances of some key DePIN projects in April:
Dabba Network
As a DePIN project targeting the Indian market, Dabba Network collaborates with local cable operators to deploy Wi-Fi hotspots, providing users with high-speed and low-cost internet services. From March to April, its cumulative data consumption doubled to 8000 TB, device sales increased by 29%, and the network scale further expanded.
A certain mobile virtual network operator
The project combines community-deployed Wi-Fi hotspots with partner operators' cellular base stations to provide users with low-cost mobile data and voice services. After opening the free mobile plan to all users, new subscription users surged by 125%, reaching a record high of 36,000. Monthly revenue increased by 34%, reaching a new high of $250,000, with data offloading accounting for 79%. The average daily offloading subscription volume rose by 65%, and the offloaded data volume increased by 32%, both setting historical records.
XNET
XNET is a decentralized mobile network based on the Solana blockchain. In April, its data offloading continued to grow, with an average daily offloading volume increasing by another 16%, maintaining a steady upward trend for 8 consecutive months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors to XNET Mobile in April still rose by 6%, reaching 732 people, a record high.
Roam
In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes (the second highest in history) and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of nodes in the protocol close to 4 million and the number of users nearing 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the total number of check-ins has surpassed 300 million, showing that user stickiness remains strong.
Shaga
The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently covering 74 GPU models, providing 33.12 TB of storage and 15.27 Gbps throughput, with high-performance computing capabilities. In two months, Shaga achieved 4,500 interactive game live streams, totaling 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to control and participate in the host's games in real time.
Hivello
As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello is used to monetize idle resources. The online duration in April has doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
Nosana
Nosana is a decentralized GPU computing network based on the Solana blockchain, focusing on providing a distributed computing power market for AI inference workloads. In April, the job completion volume and contributor rewards of Nosana saw a slight increase, while GPU nodes remained stable. The newly launched Gaianet AI collaboration project allows AI agents to run on the Nosana infrastructure, which is expected to drive job growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar supports high-performance computing needs by connecting idle computing power from devices such as smartphones to the network. In April, Sallar's dollar rewards increased by 27% month-on-month, reaching $11,800, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass connects the idle internet bandwidth of user devices to the network, providing a fundamental data source for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services. In April, the data collection volume of Grass reached a new historical high of 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
Wingbits is a DePIN project based on the Solana blockchain that collects real-time aircraft data through ADS-B hardware deployed by users worldwide. Since November 2024, the number of flights tracked by the Wingbits network has increased to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, representing increases of 7% and 29%, respectively; the number of contributing sites has also grown by 43%, reaching 3,000.
A Certain Decentralized Map Network
The project collects street-level images through users' dash cameras to earn token rewards. Monthly mapped mileage remained stable in April, and its AI-driven platform aimed at fleet management officially launched that month, which will bring new growth momentum as more fleets join. Since February, the number of active map contributors for this project has remained stable at around 5,000.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network collects street view and geographic data through smartphones and dedicated devices, supporting map creation, autonomous driving, and physical AI. In April, user-driven mileage has maintained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
Sourceful Energy, centered around decentralized virtual power plants, connects distributed energy resources to the Solana blockchain network. In April, power output increased by 30%, and the newly launched smart energy efficiency analysis devices received 500 pre-orders, with growth expected to continue.
AmbiosNetwork
Ambios Network has built the world's largest environmental monitoring DePIN. In April, the cumulative user ecological data check-ins surpassed 2 million, with a 12% increase in ecological data check-ins; the total number of platform users has increased to 45,000, representing a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN ecosystem has shown strong growth momentum in April, with projects in various subfields making progress to varying degrees. With the emergence of more innovative applications and the expansion of the user base, this sector is expected to continue to maintain a growth trend in the future.
