Gate News bot reports that, according to Reuters, as President Trump's tariff war reshapes the crypto assets supply chain, the world's three largest Bitcoin mining rig manufacturers are establishing manufacturing bases in the United States.
Bitmain, Canaan, and MicroBT produce over 90% of the Bitcoin Mining Rigs in the world. Establishing a base in the United States can protect them from tariff impacts, but it may exacerbate U.S. security concerns regarding China in multiple areas such as chip manufacturing and energy security.
The Chief Technology Officer of Conflux Network, Guang Yang, stated: "The China-US trade war is causing structural changes in the Bitcoin supply chain, rather than superficial changes."
In addition, for American companies, "This is not just a tariff issue, but rather a strategic shift towards 'politically acceptable' hardware sources," Yang said.
Bitmain is the largest by sales among the three companies. After Trump won the presidential election a month ago, the company began producing Mining Rigs in the United States last December, which is a "strategic move" for them.
Leo Wang, an executive of Canaan Creative, stated that the company began trial production of Mining Rigs in the U.S. after Trump announced the so-called "Liberation Day" tax on April 2, aiming to avoid tariffs. He mentioned that due to the volatile tariff situation, large-scale investments cannot be made, so this move is exploratory.
The third-ranked Bitwei stated in a statement that it is "actively implementing localization strategies in the United States" to "avoid the impact of tariffs."
