Gate News bot message, U.S. President Trump told reporters on Monday, on the eve of the G7 meeting in Canada, that expelling Russia from the G7 was a major mistake that led to the war in Ukraine. "This is a huge mistake," he said.
He stated that the Obama administration's action likely greatly contributed to President Putin's decision to invade Ukraine. He not only blamed Obama but also criticized former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau—this is a rare direct attack on Canadian foreign policy. Russia was expelled in March 2014 after annexing Crimea.
