Moonpay, which provides cryptocurrency payment services and has over 20 million users, has been granted the long-awaited BitLicense and money transmitter license by the New York State Department of Financial Services.
MoonPay stated in a statement announced on June 4 (Wednesday) that with the acquisition of this BitLicense, it has completed regulatory compliance in the United States, complementing the remittance operator licenses already obtained in 46 states and regions within the U.S. It also mentioned that this will complement registrations in the UK, Australia, Canada, Italy, Ireland, and Jersey.

The approval of the BitLicense by the New York State Department of Financial Services is widely recognized as the "gold standard" in the cryptocurrency industry.
The approval from the agency was announced just after MoonPay opened its new headquarters in New York City, and according to the company, this new headquarters is currently the largest office in the United States.
