Google Cloud: North Korean hackers posing as remote workers attack blockchain projects, with targets shifting from the United States to Europe.
According to BlockBeats news on April 2, Google Cloud's latest report indicates that North Korean hackers disguised as IT professionals are intensifying their cyber attacks on European blockchain projects. Projects built on the Solana network, including applications and recruitment, are facing increasing attacks. North Korean hackers impersonate legitimate remote workers, infiltrating companies, taking over critical systems, and stealing sensitive data that may be sold. The report shows that a North Korean hacker is using 12 fake identities in the U.S. and Europe to find work by forging recommendation letters, establishing rapport with job seekers, and using other identities they control to prove their credibility. More blockchain-related projects involve Anchor and Rust smart contracts development. One employee even developed an AI web application using Electron, Next.js, and blockchain applications.
