Solana plans to expand block space to 100M CU by the end of the year.

According to the Gate.io News bot, Wu Shuo reported that the Vice President of Core Engineering at Anza, a Solana ecosystem development company, announced in a podcast that the Solana block space will be expanded to a block limit of 100M CU by the end of the year, doubling the current capacity. Compute Units (CU) serve as a unit for measuring transaction computing resources in the Solana network, similar to the Gas mechanism in Ethereum, responsible for limiting transaction complexity and protecting network resources. Currently, the block limit for Solana is 48M CU, with two related proposals: SIMD-0207 proposes to increase the block limit to 50M CU, while SIMD-0256 suggests raising it to 60M CU. The increase in the limit of block CU this time will expand the block size and impose higher performance requirements on validating nodes. Source: Wu Says

Meteora announces the launch of DAMM V2, supporting a unilateral Token launch mechanism.

BlockBeats news, on April 11, Meteora announced the official launch of DAMM V2, which now supports both SPL and Token2022 dual token standards, supports unilateral token launch mechanism, and allows the project party to set higher transaction fees during the launch phase as a counter-sniping protection. DAMM V2 achieves faster transaction execution through CU optimization and account structure upgrades, and seamlessly integrates with all aggregators and third-party applications, having launched on the testing platform.

Solana community discusses plans to increase block computation unit capacity.

Gate.io News bot message, the Solana community is discussing a proposal to increase the capacity of Compute Units (CU). CU, as a unit of measuring transaction computational resources in the Solana network, is similar to Ethereum's Gas mechanism, used to limit transaction complexity and protect network resources. Currently, the Solana block limit is 48M CU, with an average CU consumption close to 40M. Since transactions need to set their own CU limits, transactions that exceed the limit will fail. The block CU is calculated based on estimated limits, and the actual consumption is below the upper limit; 40M has reached the saturation point of actual CU consumption in the block. The community has proposed two proposals: SIMD-0207 suggests raising the block limit to 50M CU, which has been approved and implemented on the testnet; SIMD-0256 proposes to raise it to 60M CU, which is currently under review. Increasing the block CU limit will raise the performance requirements for validating nodes. Source: Wu Says
